Animals for Widows and Orphans
Raising animals to provide for widows and orphans.
Our Life Groups have noticed a need to support the local widows and orphans. Their creativity led them to begin raising animals to support them.
The animals are sold for their meat, and the money supports the widows and orphans.
In Burundi, they constructed a chicken coop, which houses 20 chickens, and they have constructed a pen for 14 rabbits.
The rabbits will be raised for meat, which can be sold to others in the community.
The chickens produce eggs and meat, which can be sold or eaten.
Costs: Our team has invested $1500 in the Burundi project.
In another area of Burundi, our team dug two ponds in which they will breed two types of fish: Tilapia and Carpe. Both types will be sold for food to support the local widows and orphans.
Costs: $5500 for the land, digging the pond, filling with water, fish larvae, feed, and other preparations.
Goal: To help our Life Groups create small businesses that support widows and orphans all across the globe.
